Each year, the tourism of the Smoky Mountains gets bigger to accommodate the amount of visitors expected (as well as the amount we actually receive!), and to coincide along that, the accommodations for pets our visitors bring grow alongside it. Pets On Hiking Trails In The National Park:
“Pets are allowed in campgrounds, picnic areas, and along roads, but must be kept on a leash at all times. The leash must not exceed 6 feet (1.8 m) in length. Two short walking paths permit leashed pets—the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail. Pets are not allowed on any other park trails. Pet excrement must be immediately collected by the pet handler and disposed of in a trash receptacle. Pets should not be left unattended in vehicles or RVs.”

“The Dog Park at Mills Park features a great opportunity for large and small dog owners to enjoy with their pets. A pair of separate fenced-in areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs, feature a double-gated entrance to prevent dogs from getting loose. Both parks offer a large fenced-in area for dogs to exercise and play off-leash.”
